Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport (BOM), sponsored by Supsan, is the first and only Turkish team to represent our country in GT4 European Series. BOM’s rankings in the last round of the races held at Barcelona Track in Spain won the team third place in Europe both in teams and pilots categories.
The sixth round of the GT4 European Series was held at the Barcelona Track. Berkay Besler and Tom Edgar achieved 8th place in the first race of the round; however, following a contact with other competitors seconds before the end of the high-tempo second race, the duo dropped out of the competition, missing second place in Europe.
Yağız Gedik and Enzo Joulie achieved 7th place in the first race of the weekend, earning valuable points for the team. Gedik and Joulie could not complete the second race due to a stone hitting the radiator of their car. With these results, the duo achieved 12th place among 78 racers.
After the last race of the season, Berkay Besler said, "We left behind a good season, we managed to achieve the 3rd place in a tough and challenging tournament like the GT4 European Series. I am proud of myself, my teammates and the whole team." Tom Edgar shared his excitement with the comments, "I gained a lot of experience in the GT4 European Series, where I competed for the first time this year. Achieving third place both in the teams and pilots rankings feels like a dream to me.”
Yağız Gedik, one of the drivers of Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport team, said after the sixth round races in Barcelona: “We are setting bigger goals every season. We successfully completed the GT4 European Series 2023 season with the support and dedication of all our teammates. We earned very valuable points for our team with the result we achieved in the last race. I would like to thank everyone for their support." Enzo Joulie, who competed in the same car with Yağız Gedik, said, "We are happy to have successfully completed the 2023 season, which was a tough competition. We managed to finish 12th out of 78 drivers despite the damage to our car in the last race of the series. I would like to thank everyone for all their efforts.”
Levent Kocabıyık, Borusan Otomotiv Board Member, stated that the BOM Team, which has maintained its steady rise in the GT4 European Series for six consecutive seasons, has accomplished another very important achievement by finishing the season in the third place in Europe. Kocabıyık said, "As Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport, we set our goal at the beginning of the GT4 European Series, which started in April, and the whole team was committed to that goal. We accomplished important achievements throughout the season and remained in the top three ranking.
